Because of scheduling and operational commitments at Westover Air Reserve Base, the next edition of THE GREAT NEW ENGLAND AIR SHOW will probably not occur until 2012.  If there is a change in the anticipated date, it will be announced on this web site.  If you have any questions about the Great New England Air Show, please go to www.Galaxycouncil.com or the public affairs office at Westover ARB.

Thanks to the Command and Staff at Westover ARB, members of the Galaxy Community Council, the sponsors and all of the visitors who made the 2008 air show a resounding success.  We look forward to seeing you again.

I  want to extend the appreciation of the Galaxy Community Council to all of the workers and visitors who participated in the September 6 & 7 2008 Great New England Air Show, New England’s premier two day event. By any measure, and in spite of Saturday’s weather, it was a success.

Special thanks to our lead sponsors: Big Y World Class Market, Saab, Hyundai and Jeep. I want to thank them and all of our sponsors who have played a pivotal role in bringing the civilian performers and vintage war birds to us. Without their generosity we would not have these two aspects of the Air Show. Their logos are listed at the “sponsorship” section of this web site.

All sponsorship funds are contributed to the Galaxy Community Council, the coordinating sponsor of the Great New England Air Show. The Galaxy Community Council is a private organization. It is not part of the Department of Defense or any of its components. It has no governmental status.

Along with the Westover Staff, members of the all volunteer Galaxy Community council put in countless hours to help make this Air Show as spectacular as you expected it to be. We want to thank Base Commander Colonel Bob Swain and everyone who works at Westover Air Reserve Base for all of their help in making this air show possible, especially while they were doing their job of defending our country

I would especially like to thank the key team leaders of the Galaxy Community Council who put in countless hours over the past year.

Vice President Ed Spellacy who did all of the sponsorship contract work and also organized our volunteers.
Secretary Joe Marois Chief bean counter Bob Baronowski, our Treasurer, who has kept our finances in order.
Sponsorship coordinator Don Ferrell VIP food distribution chief, Dave Canegallo and his primary assistant Carol Patterson. VIP and Sponsorship logistics coordinator, Tom O’Donnell Vintage aircraft and civilian performers coordinator, Tom Kennedy Our chief cyber guy Bob Houldson, who has helped create this outstanding website (www.greatnewenglandairshow.com), and Jo Ann Bush, who put together the official air show program book, contacted our sponsors to collect their banners and public address announcements while tirelessly working on the kick-off breakfast.

I also want to thank the balance of the 150 members of the Galaxy Community Council who gave their time to help make
The Great New England Air Show a success.

We look forward to building on the success of this year’s show.
We’ll keep you informed about our next event when we have more information.

Sincerely yours,
Bud Shuback, President
Galaxy Community Council.
